The visitors had the opportunity to taste 300 wines from 61 wineries both peninsular and insular.
The II edition of the Tenerife Selection Hall that Peñín Guide organized last June 11 in Santa Cruz de Tenerife -in particular at the Iberostar Grand Hotel Mencey- again had the massive response of professionals from the Canary Islands wine sector, arriving to register the visit of more than 500 between distributors, specialized stores, sommeliers, restaurants, hotels, supermarkets, prescribers and press. In total, 61 wineries from 31 different producing areas presented 300 references included in the categories of Best Wines (90 or more points) or Best Purchases (3, 4 or 5 stars), according to the “Guide Peñín de los Vinos de España 2018” .
Among the participating wineries, 46 came from the peninsula, belonging to 24 processing areas (Alella, Bierzo, Calatayud, Cava, Conca de Barberà, Costers del Segre, Jerez, Jumilla, Montsant, Navarra, Pago Calzadilla, Penedès, Priorat, Rías Baixas , Ribeiro, Ribera del Duero, Ribera del Júcar, Rioja, Rueda, Somontano, Terra Alta, Toro, Uclés and VT Castilla y León).
For its part, Canarian wines also had a prominent presence in the Hall, where 15 wineries of the islands made known to visitors 75 references attached to 7 appellations of origin (Abona, La Palma, Lanzarote, Tacoronte-Acentejo, Valle de La Orotava, Ycoden-Daute-Isora and Quality Wine from the Canary Islands).
The event was sponsored by the Cabildo de Tenerife and Jamón de Teruel; the latter offered the public the possibility of tasting their product.
